Adult Classes

Adult Sunday School classTLT (Think and Let Think)

Members use a variety of literature to enhance their journeys of faith.  Open to individuals and couples who want to grow spiritually and support one another. 

Nelda’s LLL (Love, Life & Loyalty)

Uses video/DVD lessons which are based on Biblical characters and history, Biblical lessons, and Christian living.

Fellowship Class

A study class for more mature adults that uses the Adult Bible Study series and the International Lesson Series.

Friendship Class

A more traditional adult class using free-wheeling discussion around the Adult Bible Studies literature and International Lesson series.

Chat –N-Chew

Multi-generational class which uses a variety of video/DVD lessons based on Biblical history and characters, Biblical archeology and  Christian living.

Journey Class

Formerly the Young Adult Class, this class is comprised of young married and singles, but welcomes anyone who wished to join the group. This group uses unconventional resources as educational and motivational materials, supported by Biblical scripture.

Youth - 6th Grade ~ 8th Grade

             9:45-10:45

             This class is held in the resource room on the 2nd floor of the education building. Turn right at the top of the stair and enter the double doors at the end of the hall.

Youth - 9th Grade ~ 12th Grade

             9:45-10:45

             This class is held in youth director Brandy Scott's office, bottom floor of the education building.


Children’s Classes

Children's Sunday SchoolSon Search – 1st Grade ~ 5th Grade

             Gathering Room, 2nd Floor, Education Building

9:30 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.: snack breakfast provided
9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.: lesson time

Son Search is a one room Sunday School Bible Study for the 1st ~ 5th grades.  We use the Cokesbury Series of "One Room Sunday School" which uses the New Revised Standard Version of the Bible as the primary Scripture resource and closely follows the Bibilical  seasons throughout the year.  Currently studying The Lenten season and leading into Easter.

 

Son Rays – Ages 3-5 years old

               2nd Floor classroom, Education Building

9:30 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.: snack breakfast provided
9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.: lesson time

Bible lessions for Preschoolers: "God's Servants Teach Me".  Children learn Bible verses and have related activities based on the concepts found in the verses.

Nursery Nursery care is available

Son Beams~ Children ages 12 ~ 24 months

     9:30 a.m. - 10:45 a.m.

Son Beams is using Cokesburry's Toddler and Two's, which has age-appropriate monthly themes for children ages 12 - 24 months.  Lessons are center-based with stand-alone centers that tell teachers and parents what the child is learning about God, the Bible and the Church.

Care for the littlest KUMC members is provided by the nursery staff during worship services, and church activities.

Infants to 5-year-olds are welcome in the Nursery from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Sundays and during special church events.

Under the care of Nursery Director Jacki Smith and her volunteer staff, nursery care includes Bible story time, play, a snack, crafts activities, and outside playtime when weather permits.
